Beauty is in the Eye of the Book-Holder

I know it is not just me who is absolutely fascinated by architecture and design. Some of the most beautiful buildings in the world? In my totally unbiased opinion, that would be libraries! Many of our oldest and most beloved libraries are dedicated to law. To brighten up your Monday, here is a compilation of what I feel are the most beautiful law libraries in the world.

Law Library at the University of Zurich (Zurich, Germany)

Executive Office of the President Law Library (Washington, D.C.)

Law Library at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan) — This library was a contender to be the shooting location for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies… easy to believe!

Law Library of Munich (Munich, Germany)

Law Library of Iowa’s State Capitol Building (Des Moines, Iowa) — I spy Reporters!

And without further ado… the most beautiful library in the world…

Euliano Law Library at Barry University School of Law!

Ours!

We may not have marble columns, winding staircases, or chandeliers… so what makes the Euliano Law Library so great? The people, of course!

Louis Rosen manning the Reference Desk!

As Timothy Healy, former President of the New York Public Library, has said, “The most important asset of any library goes home at night — the library staff.” All of the librarians and staff are incredibly helpful and encouraging. Barbara works tirelessly to ensure our materials match our patron’s needs, Betty is eager to help students get materials from universities all over, and Louis would answer Reference emails in his sleep if it were possible… and that’s just a sampling of the fabulous library staff! We all truly want our students to succeed. The warmth of the Barry community is what transforms our library. Much as I may have a fondness for the look of buildings, there is much more room in my heart for the people who fill them.

Have a great week and do not hesitate to stop by!
