Study Smarter workshop THIS THURSDAY, 1/25!

The Law Library is presenting its first research workshop of the semester: Study Smarter, this Thursday, 1/25, from 4:45 to 5:45 PM in LAC 110.  Your Law Librarians will introduce students to tips, tricks, tools, and techniques to help you excel in your classes, on your exams (from 1L midterms all the way to the Bar Exam), and even beyond law school.

We are offering one professionalism credit for all who attend, as an incentive.

If you can, please RSVP to by Wednesday, 1/24, to give us an idea of how many people to expect.

Thank you, and we’ll see you at Study Smarter!

Have a safe, restful, productive long weekend!

Congratulations for making it through the first week of classes! I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m looking forward to this three-day weekend. Use it to rest, relax, spend time with friends and family, and get ahead for the coming week.  Of course, those of you studying for the February Bar Exam, keep doing what you have been doing!
New 1L students, we hope Orientation went well over the last two days, and we can’t wait to have you officially join the Barry Law community on Tuesday.
Remember that the Law Library will be open for Barry students, faculty, staff, and alumni from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM this coming Monday, January 15th, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Your Reference Librarians will be back on Tuesday, so we’ll see you then. Have a wonderful weekend!

Barry Law Library Displays

As you walk into the library this week, take a moment to stop at the newspaper stand and check out the display on Martin Luther King, Jr.  One of the most prolific orators and activists of the civil rights movement.  He is the only non-president to have a national holiday dedicated in his honor.  The books on display feature scanned copies of his handwritten speeches, and photos of the civil rights era.

The display case near the stairs features the Iran Nuclear Deal.  You have the opportunity to vote on which side you stand on in the deal.  Read the opposition and supporting arguments and choose a side.  Your vote will be anonymous!  At the end of the month, we will let you know which side won the votes.
