Welcome to Our Gallery Display in the Library

Welcome back from Spring break!

Here’s a bit of news. The Welcome to our Gallery of Barry University School of Law Faculty Member Publications display is currently being updated with newer publications written by many of our Faculty members. A professor or two has been added to the list and their work is on display as well. Come in to visit the library and check out the display of Faculty members’ latest works.   If you are interested in reading any of these books or articles, speak with a Reference Librarian to discover where to find it.

Study Guides with Library Collection Call Number Ranges

Hello to all of you……

With a few weeks to go until the Fall final exams begin, I wanted to share with you where you can find additional study aids and reading materials in print that may be of use to you. While the law library has the most current study aid editions of various class topics in the Reserve collection located in the Circulation department on the first floor, the library does have older editions of these study aids and other title print books located on the second floor in the library’s general collection. Below is a list of some of the current class headings and the call number area range where you can locate these additional reading materials. If you are looking for a specific book, look it up in the online catalog (law school location) to find the specific call number to aid you in locating your chosen book title. You can use your own laptop or a computer in the library to search the law library catalog. The link to the law library: http://weblaw.barry.edu/law_library/default.htm     Be sure to select the “Law Library” as the collection you wish to search.

Below is a chart of some of the current class titles being taught this semester. The column to the right shows you the general call number in the collection to find titles relating to the classes being taught.

The Law School Docket

When you get a chance, look through The Law School Docket that is sent out weekly by the Student Bar Association and Docket Committee to your Barry email address when school is in session.  This publication is informative to you as a Barry law student or employee to let you know important notices that you may need to be aware about.  These notices include library announcements,  a calendar of  planned events, law school upcoming planned event announcements (a great time to socialize outside of school classes), latest news about clubs and organizations,  Bar Prep important  notices, Career Services  latest news, classifieds (available housing,  employment to help out with expenses and other advertisements), and  current Florida Legal News.

Barry Law School Docket

I personally like to read what is happening among the student population and when the events are taking place to make sure that his information is included in the law school’s archive collection.  Oh, yes, we also have an archive collection of old newsletters.  I will share more information about that in a future blog post.

Gallery of Law Faculty Members Publications

Hello all,

When you get a chance,  stop in to see some recent changes in the law library.  Oh, yes, there is the  comfortable soft seating for students at the tables on the first floor.   While you were out on break,  the Library recently added some display cabinets on the first floor. For interesting reading, check out the Gallery of Law Faculty Members Publications displaying articles and books authored or edited by some our faculty members.   If there is an article that you would like to read, check with the Reference Librarians and they will assist you in locating a copy for you to review.
