Next week, our students have midterm exams. The Barry Law Library staff is rooting for you to excel, so let us know if we can recommend any study aids for your classes, assist you in reserving study rooms, or do anything else to help you succeed on your exams.
The Law Library will be open for our regular hours, but we will be closed to visitors (including non-Barry Law alumni Bar members) from Monday, 2/19 through Wednesday, 2/21. The Reference Librarians will not staff the Reference Desk for those three days, but we will still be available in our offices, and via LawReferenceLibrarians@barry.edu or for PERCs (Personal Research Consultations), which you may schedule with us at http://barry.libsurveys.com/perc .
The Law Library is presenting its first research workshop of the semester: Study Smarter, this Thursday, 1/25, from 4:45 to 5:45 PM in LAC 110. Your Law Librarians will introduce students to tips, tricks, tools, and techniques to help you excel in your classes, on your exams (from 1L midterms all the way to the Bar Exam), and even beyond law school.
We are offering one professionalism credit for all who attend, as an incentive.
Congratulations for making it through the first week of classes! I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m looking forward to this three-day weekend. Use it to rest, relax, spend time with friends and family, and get ahead for the coming week. Of course, those of you studying for the February Bar Exam, keep doing what you have been doing!
New 1L students, we hope Orientation went well over the last two days, and we can’t wait to have you officially join the Barry Law community on Tuesday.
Remember that the Law Library will be open for Barry students, faculty, staff, and alumni from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM this coming Monday, January 15th, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Your Reference Librarians will be back on Tuesday, so we’ll see you then. Have a wonderful weekend!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Barry students, faculty, staff, alumni, and Law Library regulars!
The Barry Law Library will be closed for Thanksgiving this Thursday the 23rd, but we will be open for limited hours on Friday the 24th, from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM, with no Reference Librarians on duty. We’ll be open for our regular hours on Saturday and Sunday.
THIS COMING WEDNESDAY, November 15th, please attend Study Smarter for Finals, a workshop featuring your Law Librarians, Colleen Wapole of the CLASP Department, and your Deans’ Study Fellows, advising you of tips, tricks, tools, and techniques to help you excel on your final exams.
The workshop will be in the New Law Building this Wednesday, from 4:45 to 5:45 PM, and student will earn one professionalism credit for attending.
It is meant for everyone — not just 1Ls! — so we hope to see you there. We want to give you every option and opportunity to succeed on your finals, because your success is OUR success.
