Law Library schedule changes for May, and another reminder about Research Ready for Summer Jobs

Good evening, Barry Law students, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni! Final exams are wrapping up, with some students taking their last exams tonight and others finishing them tomorrow, so we wanted to update everyone on Law Library hours for the next few weeks.
This Friday, May 11th (graduation day), the Law Library will be open from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM.
We will be closed this weekend: Saturday, May 12th, through Sunday, May 13th.
We will be open next Monday through Friday, May 14th – 18th, from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM.
And for any students who haven’t registered yet, we still have spaces available in our two-day intensive research refresher workshop series, Research Ready for Summer Jobs, from 9 AM to noon on Tuesday, May 15th, and Wednesday, May 16th.
Students may attend one or both sessions, but we will cover different topics each day — topics to help you look like legal research superstars during your summer jobs and internships, including searching statutes, regulations, caselaw, practice materials, and other secondary authority.
You can register for one or both days on
If you want to register for both sessions, make sure to submit a separate registration form for each day.
After that, we will be closed the following weekend: Saturday, May 19th, through Sunday, May 20th.
And starting Monday, May 21st, we will be back to our regular Law Library hours for the summer:
Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM – 10:00 PM
Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
We will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 28th (along with the rest of campus).
Well, that’s it for now! It has been a good semester, and we’ve been happy to work with you and help you along the way. Congratulations on finishing your exams, and we hope you have a safe, fun, relaxing, and/or productive summer (and hopefully all of those things!). Our Law Library staff would like to especially congratulate our graduates, and the Law Librarians will be at the Bob Carr Theater on Friday morning to cheer you on at the commencement ceremony.
AS ALWAYS, whether you’re working, interning, taking classes, studying for the Bar Exam, or just chillin’, stay in touch with us over the summer, let us know what you’re doing, and especially let us know how we can continue to help you excel!

Three more days of finals, four more Peanut Butter & Jelly Times!

You’re almost there! Just a few more days of final exams, but that also means you have a few more chances to join us at our Peanut Butter & Jelly Bar in the Law Library! We will be holding it today (Tuesday 5/8) from 4:30 to 5:30, tomorrow (Wednesday 5/9 from 11:30 to 12:30 AND 4:30 to 5:30, and Thursday 5/10, the very last one, from 11:30 to 12:30.
We hope your exams are going well. You know your stuff. You prepared all semester, and you’re ready. Believe in yourselves, because WE believe in you!

Extending our Law Library hours throughout final exams

Good morning, Barry Law community!  Congratulations to students and faculty alike on making it to the end of another semester.

The Law Library will be extending its hours until midnight EVERY NIGHT from now until the end of final exams.  The last night of finals will be Thursday, May 10th.  That includes the two Fridays and two Saturdays between now and then — we normally close at 6 PM on those days, but now we will stay open until midnight then too.

We will also be closed to visitors (anyone other than Barry students, faculty, staff, and alumni) from now until the end of final exams.

After that:
Friday, May 11th (graduation day) — 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday, May 12th – Sunday, May 13th — CLOSED
Monday, May 14th – Friday, May 18th — 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday, May 19th – Sunday, May 20th — CLOSED

And our regular Summer schedule begins again on Monday, May 21st.

Best of luck on your exams, and as always, let us know how we can help you!  Remember, the Law Library Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar will begin this coming Friday, April 27th, the first day of final exams.
